Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I am single lady and new to ballroom dancing and I am interested in attending your dances. However, I feel uncomfortable sitting at a table by myself and not being asked to dance. Will this be the case if I attend your dance?
A: At our dances we have a "Singles Table" for
those people (men and women) who choose to join it. We always have
courteous gentlemen attend who make it a habit of asking single ladies
to dance. Also, our volunteer "Dance Hosts" will make certain that you
are not left sitting alone at your table. If you are a beginner, please
make sure to show up for the beginner lesson at the start of the dance.
You will find that it is easy, fun and informative.
Q: I am interested in taking lessons. When are your classes? Where are they held? How much do they cost?
A: You will find all this information on the
Classes page. If you are
interested in taking private classes we can arrange a time. Call: 772-388-3683.
Q: Do I need to have a partner for my lessons?
A: No partner is required. In our group lessons the students rotate so
everyone gets to dance with several different partners.
Q: I have a dance partner. Will we be required to rotate in the group lessons?
A: No. However, dancing with different partners will probably make you a
better dancer.
Q: What type of shoes should I wear for dancing?
A: Comfortable shoes that fit well will be fine for most dancers.
Q: How should we dress?
A: For classes the dress code is always casual. Just make sure to wear
shoes that fit well and are comfortable for you. For the social dances
the attire is "dressy-smart". Gentlemen do not need to wear jackets or
ties, but they should present a neat, well-groomed appearance. .
Q: Where can we go out dancing in the Sebastian area?
A: We hold ballroom Dances at the Sebastian Community Center
every Friday night (beginning Oct. 1, 2010). We also now hold a dance on
the second Saturday of every month at Swingsation's 14th Ave.
Dance Studio in Vero Beach.
Q: What is the best way to learn how to dance?
A: There is no one "best" way. Now-a-days you can even get free
instruction on the internet. The best way for you learn how to dance depends upon your
individual needs, abilities and circumstances.
